Vision Ethiopia said it has reportedly been executing
development works with over 6.6 million birr in Oromo
nationality zone of Amhara State.
World Vision Ethiopia Kemise area Development Program Office Manager Endale Lemma told WIC recently that the office has been undertaking the development works in 33 kebeles in the zone.
The development activities include the construction of flood protection canal, a modern dairy processing and selling, 12 potable water facilities, among others, he elaborated.
Besides, assistance of educational materials, uniforms as well as financial support is being provided to 3,330 destitute and orphaned children in three woredas, the Manager added.
An irrigation dam cultivating 70 hectares, 25 manually-operated dams, six potable water facilities, one modern basic alternative school executed last year at a cost of five million birr have gone operational benefiting over 26,000 inhabitants, Endale further noted.
Food security improvement works, education services, HIV/AIDS prevention, among others are also underway in the zone since the beginning this year, it was pointed out.
