Council reshuffles cabinet members

Addis Ababa, October 24 (WIC) – Addis Ababa City Administration Council has removed some of its cabinet members whom he said could not discharge their responsibility. The City Administration has been evaluating its performance of last year.

The Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front which has majority of the seats in the City Council presented the decisions to the meeting of the Council on Sunday.

The City Administration Council approved the decision to remove Kefyalew Azeze, Deputy Mayor and Communications Affairs Bureau Head. The Council replaced Abate Sitotaw as Deputy Mayor and Head of Capacity Building Bureau.

The Council also approved the decision to remove Deputy Speaker, Yirgu Edilu and appoint Tabor Gebremedhin as Speaker.

In addition, the Council endorsed Dagmawit Moges’ and Firehiwot Ayalew’s appointment by City Mayor, Kuma Demeksa as head of Small and Micro Enterprises Bureau and Communications Affairs head respectively.

Furthermore, the City Council lifted immunity of Council member, Wubshet Gebregzabiher who is suspected of hitting a person while driving. (ERTA)
