Id-al Adha marked in Ethiopia colorfully

Addis Ababa, November 7 (WIC) – Id-al Adha, an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim, was celebrated colorfully by Muslims in Ethiopia on Sunday.

Here in the capital, the festival was celebrated in the presence of thousands of Muslims.

Hajji Ali Mohammed Siraj, Secretary of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Council, stressed the need to advance tolerance among the various religious sects during an event held at Addis Ababa Stadium.

He further called up on the new generation to give due attention to religious tolerance.

Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Kuma Demeksa, on his part said Ethiopians have been enjoying freedom of worship and other human and democratic rights more than ever before. (ENA)
