Addis Ababa, December 27 (WIC) – The second Ethio-Sudan joint political committee meeting was held in Khartoum from 22-25 December 2011.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ethiopian delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn.
The two parties signed two Memoranda of Understandings (MoU) and have agreed to sign two others in the coming 60 days.
According to the statement, consensus has been reached between the two parties to open consular offices in Gedarif, Demazin, Gondar and Bahir Dar.
Meanwhile, Hailemariam during his stay in Khartoum, held talks with Sudanese President, Omar Hassan al-Bashir on various bilateral and regional issues.
