Institutions had a role to induce democracy, ensure fair development: House

The House of People Representatives said that the country’s democratic institutions had a role to induce democracy and ensure fair and accelerated economic development over the last years.

In a forum held yesterday, the House reviewed the fifteen year performance of these institutions.

Over 187 democratic institutions drawn from associations, federations and universities were attended the forum.

The institutions have tremendously played to nurture the democratic culture of the country with inculcating the concept of democracy among the society and ensuring fair development.

However, it has been said that they have been work hard to ensure the holistic participation of the people with upholding accountability.

The House should also make sure the laws and regulations are implemented and fill gaps in following up whether government resources are spent for what was planned for.
