Amb. Jemal Beker Confers with Bahrain Undersecretary

Addis Ababa, April 9, 2021(Walta) – Ambassador Jemal Beker met and held a discussion with Nabeel Mohammed Abulfateh, Undersecretary of Agriculture & Marine Resources of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities, and Urban Planning of Bahrain.

Their discussion covered a range of issues such as food security, agricultural investment, trade, and bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Jemal Beker explained the availed opportunities in Ethiopia in various sectors: agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, attractive incentive packages, tax exemptions, property protection laws, and regulations under intensive reforms.

He said that Ethiopia is a land of origins with abundant agricultural land, water resources, and skilled and semi-skilled workforce that give comparative advantage for the Kingdom of Bahrain to consider harnessing the exiting potentials.

On the other hand, Dr. Nabeel Mohammed Abulfateh, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Marine Resources appreciated the presentation and expressed his country’s readiness to seize the availed opportunities.

He said the Kingdom of Bahrain is developing its food security program that will consider friendly countries like Ethiopia to work for mutual benefits.

In this regard, he reconfirms his government’s commitment to promoting cooperation and collaboration with their counterparts to strengthen the relationship between the sisterly countries.
