Ambassadors of Seri Lankan, Eswatini and UNICEF representative present Copies of Credentials to MoFA Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 24/2023 (Walta)- The newly appointed Ambassadors of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Kingdom of Eswatini to Ethiopia, Kossinna Kankanamalage Theshantha Kumarasiri and Mahlaba Almon Mamba, respectively, presented copies of their letters of credentials to the chief of protocol for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Demeke Atnafu.

Ambassador Demeke highlighted Ethiopia’s long-standing bilateral relations with the countries, and. stressed tourism, culture, education, and investment as potential areas of collaboration between Ethiopia and the two countries.

Ambassador Demeke in the briefing also underscored Ethiopia’s commitment to finding African solutions to African problems while covering the Pretoria Peace Agreement, and the GERD ongoing negotiations.

In addition, the UNICEF representative to Ethiopia, Dr. Aboubakar Kampo, presented a copy of his letter of credentials to Ambassador Demeke Atnafu.

Welcoming UNICEF’s representative, Ambassador Demeke expressed gratitude to UNICEF’s assistance in development initiatives for women and children which improve the lives of women and children across the country.

Dr. Aboubakar on his behalf, highlighted UNICEF’s 70-year partnership with Ethiopia and pledged to maintain solution-focused cooperation with Ethiopia. The representative also applauded Ethiopia’s commitment to bring lasting peace in the northern part of the country, MoFA wrote on its social media.
