Amole wins IBSl Award of 2020

Amole, the digital platform in Ethiopia, of Dashen Bank has won the 2020 International Banking Service Intelligence (IBSI) Global Financial Technology and Innovation Award.

IBS Intelligence, headquartered in the UK, conducted the virtual award ceremony on Dec. 11, 2020, and announced that Amole has won the IBS Intelligence Global Fintech Innovation Award 2020 for Most Impactful Project of Digital Wallet Deployment.

During the award ceremony, it was mentioned that just 24 months since launch, over 3.9 million accounts were registered on the Amole wallet. This is a significant boost to Dashen’s digital customer base, which was just 50 thousand before the launch.

Fintan Byrne, CEO of CR2, the Irish Based Digital Self Service Payments company who deployed its digital Banking platform to launch Amole Digital Wallet for Dashen together with Moneta Technologies, received the award on behalf of his company, Dashen Bank and Moneta Technologies and said, “I am very pleased to accept this award for the Most Impactful Project in the Category of Digital Wallets Deployment.”

He also said, “Thank you for the recognition this wallet deserves this is a reflection of the hard work and a combined effort of many parties working together with one aim – making lives better through digital technology.”

The role of Amole as a digital payment platform in Ethiopia is growing from time to time. Many companies prefer Amole for its ease and suitability for payment, transfer, and sales purposes.

According to Dashing bank, on average, more than 200 million birr is being transacted through Amole daily.
