Biden Announces $350mln to Facilitate Digital Transformation in Africa

Addis Ababa, December 16, 2022 (Walta) – The US president Joe Biden has announced the commitment of $350 million to facilitate digital transformation in Africa.

Speaking at US-African Leaders Summit in Washington, the president has announced that the US has a holistic plan to bring economic transformation in Africa.

On the second day of the summit, the president said that in the past the US has been investing on African infrastructure and other sectors.

But this initiative enables Africa to take part and benefit from the digital economy of the era.

The initiative has three main pillars: digital economy and infrastructure, human capital development, and digital enabling environment, as stated by White House.
