Chinese Company keen on Investing in Green Development Projects in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 10, 2022(Walta) – Ambassador Teshome Toga held a fruitful discussion with Gao Lei, the vice president of CGCOC Group and Managing Director of the East African Branch on ways in which the company can make investments in the Green Development Projects focusing on Solar Energy, Electric City Bus and Juncao Technology.

During the discussion, Ambassador Teshome noted that the Ethiopian Government is committed to carrying on Green Development Projects and in doing so encourages companies like CGCOC to invest in Ethiopia.

He added that Ethiopia is gifted with significant renewable energy resources, with huge potential of hydro, solar, wind, and geothermal power, and called on the company to work in a joint venture with Ethiopian investors who have interests in related areas.

Ethiopia, as the home of the largest livestock population in Africa, the embassy will provide the necessary support to CGCOC to realize ”Juncao Technology ” which is a reputable project that works mainly on animal fodder and mushroom productions.

Gao Lei on his part said that CGCOC  is an international enterprise with businesses covering many countries around the world, and as Ethiopia prioritized working on Green Development Projects, the company presented three new matching projects in the area.

He added that the company is committed to executing those projects by working together with Ethiopian local businesses.
