Addis Ababa, March 6, 2023 (Walta) – Discussion is being held on input gathering, consultation and policy options for transitional justice in Ethiopia.
Speaker for House of People’s Representative, Tagesse Chafo, said on the occasion that transitional justice fixes today’s problem and mends the future.
Transitional justice plays an important role in providing the necessary response to the victims, holding perpetrators accountable and preventing similar future issues, which will help bring lasting peace in Ethiopia, the speaker added.
After the Ethiopian government and Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) reached the peace agreement, implementing transitional justice aiming to ensure sustainable peace, reconciliation and justice is underway.
