Addis Ababa, June 10, 2024 (Addis Walta) Ethiopia and Qatar agreed to cooperate in regional and multilateral platforms.
Minister of Finance of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ahmed Shide, delivered written message from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The message from the prime minister is about strengthening Ethio-Qatar bilateral relations and means of enhancing them.
During the discussion with Qatari Emir at Lusial Palace, Ahmed Shide highlighted that Ethiopia embarked in a reform and the subsequent changes and development.
Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani on his part said that Ethiopia is a country with a long and ancient history. He mentioned that Qatar understand Ethiopia’s key role in ensuring peace and stability in the region. He said that Qatar is committed to work with Ethiopia in this regard.
Ethiopian Minister of Finance also conferred with his Qatari counterpart about cooperation in finance, investment and development between the two countries.
During their discussion, Ahmed Shide explained to his counter-part the investment potential Ethiopia avails for Qatari companies.
