Ethiopia Ready to Host German-African International Events

Addis Ababa, April 15, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopia announced that it is ready to host the five international German-African-related events that promote German and African products to the world community here in Addis through the support of the German Embassy in Ethiopia.

Briefing journalist, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Tourism (MoT) announced that from March 2nd to 4th,2023 the ministry will host five events such as Made in Germany, 8th Africa sourcing and fashion week, Perfora Africa, Africa home and finance show, Africa Safety and security week in the city.

MoT State Minister Sileshi Girma told EPA that the country has been working on enhancing its international event hosting capacity of the country.

The state minister stressed that currently, the government of the country has been implementing a number of strategic measures to further develop the country’s tourism sector As to him, MoT has recently set up Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) center in a bid to strengthen the event hosting capacity

Explaining the potential of the country to host international events, he said that having the best international airline connectivity, international headquarters, and diplomatic missions makes the city a convenient place to undertake international events.

He noted that German agreed with Ethiopia to host all conventions related to Africa in Addis Ababa and the event is very helpful to properly manifesting the current state of Ethiopia.

Concerning Made in Germany event that will be hosted Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia Stephen Auer said that the event will benefit the entire African business companies, traders, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and other agents of Africa.

As to the ambassador, over 150 manufacturers and exporters will show their products to over 5,000 African trade professionals, investors, diplomats, and other different stakeholders.

The ambassador stressed that the event will offer a big opportunity to find the best economic opportunity and best economic and political solutions for Africa’s needs.
