Ethiopia, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Discuss Issues of Common Concerns

Addis Ababa, March 12, 2021 (Walta) – Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia has conferred today with Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Foreign Minister and Special Envoy of the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

 

At the outset, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek conveyed the goodwill messages of the government and people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to the government and people of Ethiopia.

 

During the meeting, they discussed issues of common concerns and Ethiopia’s role in the peaceful solution to the problem of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

 

The Demeke assured that Ethiopia has always been consistent in its support for a fair, just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution consistent with the principles and purposes of the AU Constitutive Act and the UN Charter.

 

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ethiopia will stand with and support the position of the role of the African Union in the peace process under the auspices of the UN and ready to contribute its share, he added.
