Addis Ababa, July 4, 2024 (Addis Walta) Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reiterated that Ethiopia wishes peace and development for Somalia.
Responding to the questions raised by the members of the House of People’s Representatives at the 36th regular session, the Prime Minister highlighted Ethiopia’s diplomatic relations with neighboring countries.
“Ethiopia has worked for Somalia’s peace by paying blood sacrifice. We still wish for peace and development for Somalia”, PM Abiy added.
The prime minister in his explanation underscored that taking the rapidly growing Ethiopia’s economy, the country seeks to get sea access without harming anyone and based on win-win principles.
Prime Minister Abiy further added, “Ethiopia’s request is appropriate and acceptable. If there is any issue with this request, it can be solved with dialogue.”
The prime minister also commented on Sudan’s conflict that Ethiopia is always committed to help warring sides to resolve the problem peacefully.
