Addis Ababa, August 24, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopian Air Force has shot down a plane carrying ammunition to Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) after it crossed Ethiopian air space said the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF).
The plane carrying weapon to TPLF was shot down over North Humera while crossing Ethiopian air space from Sudan according to the Head of Joint Operation Division at the ENDF, Major General Tesfaye Ayalew.
The head said that the plane whose owner not yet known has been downed by Ethiopian Air Force around 10:00 PM.
According to the head, TPLF is a Trojan horse for Ethiopia’s historical arc enemies whose main goal is weakening it.
TPLF is designated as terrorist group by House of People’s Representatives.
“Ethiopian defense forces and Ethiopian are ready to safe guard their sovereignty more than ever,” said the head.
Unless the terror group abandons its dream of dismembering Ethiopia, the defense force will take every measure it deems appropriate, he added.
The federal government of Ethiopia has been blaming TPLF for preparing for another round of conflict recently.
TPLF has effectively ended the unilateral humanitarian truce the government announced months ago following the assault it has launched in the Eastern Front of Biso Ber, Zobel and Tekulesh today at 5:00 AM.
