Ethiopian Athlete Wins Gold Medal at Tokyo Olympics

 

Addis Ababa, July 30, 2021 (Walta) – Ethiopian Athlete Solomon Barega won a gold medal at the men’s 10,000 meters Tokyo Olympic. The women’s 5,000-meter team has made it to the final.

Following the result announcement, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said congratulation to All Ethiopians.

The medal is the first in the country since the Tokyo Olympics began last week. Ethiopia won a gold medal at Men’s 10,000 meters

Ethiopian athletes, SenbereTeferi, Ejigayehu Taye, and  Gidaf Tsegay made it to the final at the  2020 Tokyo Olympics 5,000m women race.

The first two athletes made it to the final after finishing third and fourth, respectively, in the first round of the competition while Gidaf Tsegay was first from the second category.
