Addis Ababa, February 26, 2024(Addis walta) An Ethiopian delegation is currently participating in the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE from February 26th to 29th.
The delegation includes Trade and Regional Integration Minister and Chief Negotiator for Ethiopia’s accession to WTO, Chala Gebremeskel, Foreign Affairs State Minister, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, and Finance State Minister, Eyob Tekalign (PhD).
The conference started with an opening session, followed by a ceremony to mark the accessions of Comoros and Timor-Leste, as well as a ceremony for acceptance of the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement.
Two “ministerial conversations” will be held on “Trade and Sustainable Development, including Trade and Industrial Policy and Policy Space for Industrial Development” and on “Trade and Inclusion”.
Gebremeskel stated on Sunday that Ethiopia is aggressively working towards finalizing its accession to the WTO.
