Addis Ababa, February 2, 2022 (Walta) – A journalist and researcher in Ethiopian affairs, Zahid Zeidan said that hosting 35th AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia exemplifies victory of Ethiopian diplomacy.

In an exclusive interview with Walta Television, Zahid added that despite external pressures and meddling in Ethiopian affairs was a big constraint the African countries consistently agreed that the appropriate place to hold the summit is Ethiopia, the mother, the core and basis of  thought of African Union.

The African Union summit should be a catalyst for African youth to attract major projects from Arab and European countries to the continent and exploit these resources exporting output from raw materials; As these projects will be the basis for achieving self-sufficiency, economic growth and combat illegal immigration to other countries.

The researcher also hoped that there would be a comprehensive dialogue from the summit for African youth to exchange experiences and information in various African countries.

Zahid pointed out that the Africans demonstrated their solidarity and unity by supporting the “No More” movement, which was started by the Ethiopian people, and then quickly spread among Africans as a unified and strong wave.

“We have watched the ‘No More’ slogans in the 33rd African Cup of Nations in the stadiums of Cameroon. This practically shows Africans cooperation for the movement”, he added.
