Members of Diplomatic Community Call on Citizens of their Respective Countries to Visit Lalibela

Addis Ababa, May 9, 2022 (Walta) – Members of the diplomatic community and representatives of international organizations based in Addis Ababa have recently visited the Lalibela World Heritage Site.

Chargé d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Tracey Ann Jacobson, UN Resident Coordinator, and UN Humanitarian Coordinator Ethiopia, Catherine Sozi (Ph.D.), UNESCO Ethiopia Country Director Yumiko Yokozeki along with Ambassadors of Australia and New Zealand visited the Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches and the surrounding community that has been highly impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic and the conflict in the northern part of Ethiopia.

On the occasion, the Ambassadors Diplomats, and leaders of the international organizations pledged to invite citizens of their respective countries to visit the world heritage site and contribute to returning the site to its previous condition, according to FBC.
