PM Abiy Ahmed, President Ismael Omar Guelleh Explore ways to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

Addis Ababa, March 28, 2022 (Walta) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh held a bilateral meeting on bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Abiy and President Ismail Omar Guelleh have explored ways of strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

The leader discussed how to strengthen economic ties and promote trade and agricultural investments, scale-up joint infrastructure development.

“The ties between our two nations are historical and broad-based. It is not only neighborly ties but familial. President Ismail Guelleh and I are committed to capitalizing on existing foundations for mutual prosperity”, pm Abiy said.

The tourism and energy sectors are also on the agenda discussed by the two leaders.

The two leaders will continue exploring areas of mutual concern over the duration of the visit, Prime Minister’s Office said.
