PM Abiy’s Visit to Abu Dhabi Enhances Ties Between Ethiopia, UAE – GCS

Addis Ababa, January 31, 2022 (Walta) – Government Communications Service (GCS) stated that the recent Prime Minister Abiy’s working visit to Abu Dhabi is aimed to explore ways how to enhance ties between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates.

The GCS Minister Legesse Tulu who is a member of the high-level delegation said that the leaders discussed areas of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in a way to ensure mutual benefit.

The relationship between Ethiopia and UAE has been being transformed to a higher level in all-rounded aspects, the Minister said, adding that UAE contributed a lot in assisting Ethiopia to overcome its trying times.

According to the Minister, during his discussion with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Prime Minister Abiy expressed gratitude to UAE for its support in times of need.

The crown prince congratulated the Premier and Ethiopians for the restoration of peace in Ethiopia.

According to FBC, the two leaders agreed to transform the ties to strategic level cooperation, according to the Minister.
