Addis Ababa, April 12, 2023 (Walta) The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Gutierrez, expressed his appreciation to the Ethiopian Peacekeeping force for its contribution to the region’s peace and security.
While visiting displaced people at Baidewa, in Somalia, the secretary-general expressed his gratitude to Ethiopian Peacekeeping Forces for their invaluable contribution to maintaining peace and security in the region and protecting the UN staff’s safety.
The commanding officer for sector three, Brigadier General Besifat Fentie, welcomed the Secretary-General and toured the refugee camps and displaced people in the camp.
During the visit, the Baidewa Mayor, the vice chairperson of the regional parliament, and the region’s higher officials welcomed the Secretary-general, according to Ethiopian National Defense Force.
