WFP Announces Aid Keep Rolling to Tigray

Addis Ababa, May 16, 2022(Walta) – The world food program (WFP) announced that a convoy of trucks carrying food aid keeps rolling and delivering food to vulnerable communities in Afar and Tigray.

According to WFP, the food on its way to Northern Afar will reach 36,000 people in the coming days.

Another 85 trucks of food aid arrived in Mekelle yesterday while a convoy of 130 trucks was on its way.

The WFP – Ethiopia described the recent convoy as the largest of its kind in 2022 in a post on its official Twitter page.

The UN food agency did not say anything in its past about the volume of food aid that reached Tigray and those on the way.
