China and Ethiopia agree to further bolster bilateral ties

China and Ethiopia have agreed to bolster their bilateral cooperation in different   sectors.

During  the press conference  held  today in China Embassy here in Addis Ababa, Special  envoy  to the  Chinese president, Xu Shaoshi told journalists that China and Ethiopia  have agreed  to bolster their  relations  in science and technology , capacity building , road constructions and  private investment of industrial parks.

According to Xu Shaoshi, China has agreed cooperate particularly in three sectors that are to provide micro satellites to industries of science and technology and finance the kaliti ring road and promote private enterprises and investments of china in the industrial parks.

Furthermore, the two countries reached an agreement for infrastructure development, production capacity cooperation and health communication sectors, Mr Xu Shaoshi underscored. The agreement will further strengthen the practical cooperation between the two countries, he added. 

During the Johannesburg Africa-China summit president of china Xi Jinping promised to implement the ten major cooperation plans, said Mr Xu Shaoshi, construction of railway network and the promoting the process of industrialization is part of the plan beginning to implement in Ethiopia, he reiterated.

Xu Shaoshi noted that Ethiopia is the strongest partner of china in the African continent. So far, multi sectoral development partnership between the two countries has helped to improve the livelihood of the people in different parts of the country, he added.  

Ethiopia has launched the first modern, electrified and 758 kilometers long railway transportation system in sub-Saharan Africa with the help of Chinese government, Walta learnt.
