The Amhara Region Communication Affairs Bureau disclosed that the region has started celebration of the 26th anniversary of Ginbot 20(May 28), victory day against the Derg military government, via various consultation forums in different areas of the region.
The day, scheduled to be celebrated with the theme, “A country persevering to ensure equality and equity for its people,” is being celebrated by entertaining questions raised from participants by experts.
It is an opportunity to evaluate economic, social and political achievements of the last 26 years and strengthen experiences of mutual existence amid diversity in culture and views in strong bond of unity.
Consultations being held on achievements made so far are crucial for further development and leap forward in economy, the Bureau noted.
The 26th anniversary of the victory day should be a moment to renew commitment to support construction and finishing the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) as an emblem of the journey to Ethiopia’s renaissance.
Members of the air force, the defense force and dwellers of the city of Bahirdar are participating in the consultation forums being held so far.
Dwellers of city have vowed to stand with other Ethiopians and make the dream to ensure Ethiopia’s journey to renaissance a reality.
