Ethiopia, EU sign €20mln grant agreement

Ethiopia and the European Union (EU) have signed a grant agreement amounting 20 million Euros.

Admasu Nebebe, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Finance and Mr. Erik Habers, EU Head of Cooperation in Ethiopia, signed the agreement here today.

The grant will be used to improve health and nutrition of Ethiopian citizens with specific emphasis on improving health and nutrition of women and adolescent girls and children under five years of age.

The grant aims at contributing to the efforts of the Government of Ethiopia to reduce poverty and engage in inclusive growth through improved health and nutrition outcomes.

It manly contributes to the improvement of access and quality of health services and reducing harmful practices in Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz and Gambella regional states.
