Addis Ababa, 15 August 2014 (WIC) – Some 35.8 percent of total work on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has been completed, says the National Council for Coordination of Public Participation for Construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
Deputy Director General for Office of the Council, Zadig Abraha also said the public has intensified support for the GERD project.
The Development Bank of Ethiopia on Thursday donated 12 motorbikes (worth ETB400 thousand) for the same cause.
After handing over the donation, DBE President, Esayas Bahre, expressed the Bank’s commitment to keep up support.
The Council has so far obtained six cars (worth ETB6 million) from various donors.
According to ERTA, The cars will be awarded to winners of the ongoing mobile SMS fundraiser.
