SEPDM senior leaders commit to utilize power for benefit of people

Members of the South Ethiopia People’s Democratic Movement(SEPDM) Party senior leadership have expressed their commitment for the utilization of public power for the benefit of the public at large.

A statement released after the reform forum underway in the seat of the region hawassa since last week indicated that the party has made official a ten-point memorandum of understanding for tangible reform.

The party has expressed its commitment for the mutual coexistence of the nations, nationalities and people’s of the region, the statement said.

The senior leaders have vowed to fill the gaps witnessed during the last 15 years and further strengthen the strengths that the party has shown in the stated period.

The party shall mobilize unemployed youth and ensure equitable benefit for all the dwellers of the regional state.

Cruel measures shall be taken on rent seeking and corrupt practices and narrowest tendencies that try to benefit only some members of the society based on ethnic lines.

It also indicated that efforts are underway to resolve the violence that has happened in Konso woreda of the region.

It is necessary to take preventive measures before such violent incidents flare up in the region in the future, the statement noted.

The regional state has indicated that it shall make utmost effort to ensure equitable benefit for all sections of the society in political, economic and social terms.
