The Palestine Ambassador to Ethiopia and African Union, Dr. Nasri Abujaish, urged the African Union to play a role alongside countries like China, Russia, Turkey others in the negotiation process to end the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
Briefing Journalists here today, the Ambassador noted that as capital of the African Union and other various international and continental organizations, Ethiopia can take the lead in the negotiation process.
Ambassador Nasri strongly condemned the killing of at least 59 civilian Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which coincided with the transfer of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
Demonstration against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem has put tension in the area and the Middle East at large high. Israel and Palestine has been at loggerheads since many decades on the status of Gaza Strip, West Bank and Jerusalem.
