Major General Kinfe Dagnew, the former head of the Ethiopian Metal and Engineering Corporation (MeTEC) arrested on his way to Sudan at Baker in western Amhara region bordering with Sudan, Ethiopian Broadcast Corporation quoted sources as saying.
Yesterday, Federal General Attorney, Birhanu Tsegaye, accused the corporation he previously led of procuring goods at inflated price from local and international suppliers through brokers who are often his close relatives.
The Major General was trying to escape to Sudan before he got intercepted by securities.
He is now being flown to Addis Ababa, who will join the 60 plus suspects, who are arrested after being accused of corruption and human right abuse.
