Egyptian President Expresses Condolences on Death of Former Ethiopia’s President

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has sent his condolences to Ethiopia on the death of former president Girma Wolde-Giorgis, who passed away on Saturday morning.

President El-Sisi expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the late president and to the Ethiopian people, his spokesman Bassam Rady said in a brief statement.

Former President Girma Wolde-Giorgis died on Saturday, two weeks short of his 95th birthday, it was learned.

He served as president of Ethiopia between 2001 and 2013.

The funeral of former president Girma Woldegiorgis will be held on Wednesday at the Trinity Church in Addis Ababa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (ENA)
