Deputy PM meets with Sudanese PM, First Vice President

Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen yesterday held discussion with Prime Minister and First Vice President of Sudan, Lieutenant General Bakri Hassan Saleh.

During the meeting, Saleh called on Ethiopian Deputy PM to enhance the bilateral relations between the two nations, according to Sudan News Agency.

He urged the Deputy Premier to achieve common interests between the two countries through the establishment of several development projects, including in electric link and railways.

Saleh further highlighted the importance of activating the joint ministerial committees, especially the border demarcation committee between the two countries.

The Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister for his part stressed his country’s interest to strengthen relations with countries in the Horn of Africa, especially with Sudan.

He said Ethiopia is keen to strengthen bilateral relations and develop joint cooperation to achieve the common interests of the two countries.
