China continues support Ethiopia’s dev’t endeavors: Wang

The visiting State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, met with Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde, this afternoon.

The two sides discussed bilateral, multilateral and regional issues where the two countries have been working together to ensure mutual development and peace and stability.

They also reached a consensus to take additional measures to widen up the cooperation on trade and investment, according to office of the President.

During the talks held at the National Palace, Wang said China will remain a reliable partner of Ethiopia.

He said “Ethiopia and China are strategic partners and this has also contributed to herald boldly the interests of developing countries and for a world which enjoys equitable growth.”

He also applauded the reform being undertaken in Ethiopia.

“Ethiopia has taken tremendous measures to meet the challenges and continue with fast economic growth. China is committed to support Ethiopia’s development endeavors.”

President Sahle-Work reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to further strengthen the relations with China and underlined the constructive role of China’s loan and grants to speed up Ethiopia’s efforts to ameliorate the living standards the people.

“The relationship between our two countries goes beyond the normal. Ethiopia would like to continue this strong and strategic partnership with China. The future holds a good hope.”
