President Sahlework receives Dr. Tedros Adhanom

President Sahlework Zewdie met with World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom.
Briefing journalists about his discussion with the president, Tedros said they conferred on the health activities in the country, especially on essential health services.
They discussed about enhancing essential health services and jointly strengthening the Ethiopian Public Health Institute.
“We identified priority areas of cooperation and ways of consolidating and expanding basic health services in Ethiopia,” he added.
Appreciating the support given to Ethiopia, President Sahlework called on WHO to continue supporting public health services.
WHO Director-General Tedros will attend the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
During his stay in Ethiopia, he will also attend Food Safety Conference organized by the African Union, World Health Organization and World Food Program that will begin next Tuesday.
