Seven political parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to merge.
The parties are the All Ethiopian Unity Party (AEUP), Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party (EPRP), Ethiopian Democratic Union (EDU), Ethiopian National Unity Party (ENUP), Afar People’s Justice Democratic Party, Afar People Liberation Party and Oromo People’s Justice Democratic Party.
The merger aims to add momentum to the multi-party system launched in the country and to neutralize efforts of anti-reform groups, it was noted.
