Gov’t Repatriates 440 Ethiopian Nationals from Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close collaboration with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International organization for Migration (IOM), today (February 27) repatriated four hundred forty Ethiopian nationals who had been living in various towns of the Kingdom without residence permits.

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the returnees were received by Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abebe Mebratu and representatives of IOM.

As part of the ongoing reforms in the country, the Government of Ethiopiahas prioritized citizen diplomacy, thereby redoubling its efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Ethiopian nationals who live and work in the Middle East and other countries.

The government on Tuesday (February 26) repatriated six hundred Ethiopian nationals who had been living in the town of Jizan without residence permits.(Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
