Walta TV vows to strengthen its commitment to be voice of the people

Walta Television has been working to reflect voices of the people during the last couple of years and shall sustain this in the coming years through concerted work with the people at large, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate said.

Speaking on the occasion of commemoration of the second year anniversary of the TV transmission, Mesfin Dereje, Deputy CEO of Walta Media and Communication Corporate, said the media house has attained better freedom to be voice of the people following the sweeping reform measures taken by the government.

Capitalizing on the good opportunity, the TV transmission has relentlessly worked to voice the woes, concerns, and complaints of the people in different parts of the country, he noted.

In addition to news and current affairs, the media has worked on transmitting educational and entertainment programs that can help people understand various issues better have been aired during the last couple of years.                

Member of the House of People’s Representatives and Author of a book on right to access to information in Ethiopia, Amanuel Abraham, on his part indicated that Walta has to continue on building its recently cemented acceptance through working more on being on the side of the people at large.

It also needs to be backed by its audience to keep its two years track of reflecting voices on both sides of the public and society, he added.
