The Reconciliation Commission will bring reconciliation that is depending on the truth and justice, commission chair Cardinal Birhane Eyesus said.
The commission was set up after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed proposed the new to have reconciliation commission meant to mend the layers upon layers of conflicts among the people based on truth.
Cardinal Birhane also said that truth and justice will be elements the commission depends on in overseeing cases of conflicts and ways to resolve problems.
The commission have life span of three years, has identified priority areas.
According to the commission, the necessary preconditions have been made so that the desired goal will be maintained, and the budget for doing so got allocated.
The commission has also conducted formal and informal communication with people who repeatedly called for reconciliation.
