FM Gedu Holds Discussion with EU Ambassadors

Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew held his first group discussion with European Union member states ambassadors today.

Briefing the media after the discussion, European and European Union Affairs Director-General at the ministry, Mehretab Mulugeta said Ethiopia and EU countries have collective and bilateral relations.

According to him, the discussion was about cooperation between EU and Ethiopia and current issues in the country.

The minister briefed the ambassadors about the reform in the country and surmountable challenges to be met in a reform.

Gedu has called on the diplomats to encourage investors to take part in the privatization scheme launched by Ethiopia.

The director-general said the ambassadors have reaffirmed their commitment to the reform in Ethiopia.

EU extends about 1 billion Euros for Ethiopia annually.
