SEPDM suspends member higher officials from office

The South Ethiopian People’s Democratic Movement (SEPDM) has indicated that it has suspended it members and higher regional officials from office today.

In a statement it released today, the party said that the Hawassa city administration, and leaders of the Sidama Zone are suspended for suspicion that they have played a role in the recent unrest that engulfed the city of Hawassa and Sidama zone tied with the quest for a new regional administration for the people of Sidama.

The party also has suspended leaders of Hadiya Zone for involvement in activities that may incite the same unrest in the zone.

But the identities of the suspended leaders of each of the zones is not clearly mentioned.

The situations in Kefa and Wolayta zones is also against the rule of law and could make those engaged amenable to the law.
