PM in South Korea for a two days official visit

PM Abiy Ahmed has arrived in Seoul, South Korea.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has arrived in Seoul, South Korea, on Sunday for a two days state visit, the office of the prime minister disclosed on its social media page.

The update from the office of the Prime Minister added that he was given an official welcome by the government of South Korea. 

Members of the Ethiopian Community residing in Seoul also warmly welcomed Abiy Ahmed and his delegation. 

The Ethiopian embassy in South Korea organized a reception dinner which is attended by members of the Ethiopian community in the country. 

“He encouraged members of the community to work towards supporting their country from where they are in the spirit of Medemer, coming together,” wrote the office of the prime minister. 

In his two days visit, he is expected to hold talks with South Korean President,Moon Jae-in, in a range of bilateral issues. 

Although it is his first scheduled visit to South Korea, this is his second visit to Asia in four months. In April, he traveled to China to attend the second Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forum in Beijing.
