Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew has begun his official Russia visit today upon the invitation of his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Accompanied by Minister of Defense Lemma Megersa, Foreign Minister Gedu will discuss with Sergey Lavrov on bilateral and regional issues that are of concern of two countries.
According to the Ministry, the visit is believed to strengthen the two countries’ trade, investment and development cooperation.
Upon his arrival in Moscow, he is welcomed by Russian Foreign Ministry’s African Affairs Head, Ambassador Gorge Todiwa and Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia, Alemayehu Tegenu.
Russian FM Sergey Lavrov had visited Ethiopia in 2018.
