International Peace Day is being celebrated in Ethiopia

The International Peace Day, which is begun being celebrated since 1982 is marked in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa at UN Convention Hall today.

The day is themed as “Environmental protection for peace”.

Through her representative, Ethiopian Minister of the Ministry of Peace, Muferiat Kamil said that with its development partners, Ethiopia will work on environmental protection and battle against climate change in that it will be able to sustain its peace and security.

The UN extended its gratitude for development partners for standing by the side of Ethiopia in development endeavors.

During the ceremony, it was transpired that climate change limits the participation of people for development, and cause displacement of peoples. This would be in turn cause instability.
