Irrecha is a moment of unity irrespective of political, religious differences-PM

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has transferred a message for the attendants of the Irrecha Festival. In his message the Prime Minister indicated that the festival is a moment for the oromo people to stand in unison irrespective of religious and political differences.

In his message the Prime Minister wished a happy festival and a moment of thanksgiving, love, unity, forgiveness and reconciliation.

It is a day for thanking God who created earth and sky, rivers and lakes, summer and winter, day and night, death and life, the Premier underscored.

 “Irrecha is a festival which reflects the relationship between the Creator and the created,” Abiy said.

Irrecha is part of the Gada System that is already registered by the UNESCO and is contributing its share to modern governance system to the world, he added.

The Gada system is a system in which democratic and peaceful transfer of power is enshrined and we should capitalize from these value, the Prime Minister noted.
