PM inaugurates statue for Dr. Catherine Hamlin

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has today inaugurated a statue built to recognize the commendable deeds of Dr. Catherine Hamline, who is founder of the Hamlin Fistula Hospital and known for supporting thousands of women suffering under this health challenge.  

While inaugurating the statue erected in the hospital here in Addis, the Prime Minister thanked her for her praiseworthy accomplishments ton support Ethiopian women who have been suffering under the disease and founding the hospital.

Prime Minister Abiy commended Dr Catherine Hamlin for her tremendous work of restoring the dignity of Ethiopian women affected by obstetric fistula, as noted by the PM Office.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the care-taking role she took of the most marginalized in their time of grave need.

 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also bestowed an award upon Dr Catherine Hamlin on behalf of the Government of Ethiopia for her tireless contribution and together with First Lady Zinash Tayachew planted seedlings in the compound of the hospital.
