The “final goal of the wisdom is to help the community but not to hurt” them said Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed as he condemned those who believe they have the wisdom and engage in pitting the people each other.
The PM made this remark at the 9th annual nationwide Science Technology Innovation Award ceremony held in Addis Ababa today after a serious of innovation shows that took a week.
The week, which was named as Ethiopia Innovate has seen major events including ICT expo, Start up Ethiopia, and let modernize technology where recognition and award were given to invention and innovation works.
This year’s Award ceremony saw participants from primary and secondary schools, technique and vocational schools, 177 students of higher education, trainees, teachers and trainers.
The owners of the invention should work to reach out their creative work to the community, the PM said adding that the need of concerned government bodies and investors to get involved in supporting them.
He also said that there are Ethiopian who share their knowledge to the country in the face of some others who use their knowledge to preach division among people.
Minister of Innovation and Technology, Getahun Mekuria (PhD) on his part said that huge efforts have been made to bring these young innovators to the front, and the ministry will work to help them see their work translated into practice.
He also urged the schools and guardians to give emphasis to innovation activities.
