Ethiopia is rising. It has managed to register a double digit economic growth in the past ten consecutive years. Its diplomatic relations with countries around the world in general and neighboring countries in particular has also strengthened.
While the investment and the infrastructure is booming, the demand of the people fast services has also grown.
Ethiopia has to maintain the fast economic and political gains in the past twenty five years, strengthening the democracy and ensuring good governance.
The people need to enjoy good governance. They want to get infrastructure and other social institutions. As the same time the multi-development projects and the huge money transfer in the country has raised the corrupt and rent seekers.
The people asked the government to fight those individuals within the government and party system that have been committing rent seeking and corrupt activities.
The government and the ruling party has ;looked inward and decided to reform itself and began mobilization against these rent collectors and their accomplices: illegal investors, transmitters and brokers.
The move has brought frustration upon many of the corrupt personalities within or outside the government systems. These groups have taking any measures they believe that could help them maintain their status.
The volatile situation of the Horn region, anti-development groups, enemies’ of the country coupled with the corrupt groups in the government, party and society coerced the people and government a serious scarification to maintain the stability of the country.
The efforts of the peace loving people coupled with the government and security forces in the country managed to maintain stable Ethiopia so far but there are instability in some areas particularly in the Amhara and Oromiua regions.
One of the worst attempts of these anti-peace groups was the one that distracted the Irecha festivity of the Oromo people. Due to the unusual disturbances in that fesitivity about fifty five people passed away in the crowed.
This is the sequel of the hidden agenda to change to destabilize the Oromiya Regional State in particular and the country in general; thereby, to divert the government’s agenda to fight corrupt and rent seeking activities.
It is surprising how those groups who planned and led the execution of the violence in some part of the Oromiya Regional State previously and the disturbances in the Oromiya festivity.
Two extremely opposite ideologies and interest came together to destabilize the country. These groups are also joined hands with rent collectors and chauvinists. They have collaborating to divert the agendas of uprooting rent seekers.
The coalition comprises Ginbot 7, ONLF, OLF, extremists and rent collectors. All of these have come together and mobilized some youths at home under various pretexts to destabilize the region and create chaos.
These groups made unholy marriage to stabilize the country. It is incredible that they were also joined by some opposition party leaders who registered to struggle peacefully under the Ethiopian constitution.
Besides, it has become evident that rent-collectors who have been working either in government or party systems currently joined this coalition aiming to buy time and get space to escape from the anti-rent seeking mobilization.
These groups came together and abused the very question of the people about good governance. These groups have been attempting to elongate the havoc but also to expand it to the entire region and then to other parts of the country.
In fact, the allies of the destabilizing group Ginbot 7, ONLF and OLF have never shirked in the past from using various terrorist tactics inside Ethiopia to destabilize the country.
It is evident that they have been involving in executing all acts of terror on the civil population. They have been using terrorist activities as a weapon to jeopardize the development and poison the peace in the country.
The problem is quite clear. In the first place, these groups don’t want to see the people to live in peace. They have no room to coexist with people who have different religion.
The recent violence in some parts of Oromiya Regional State and those terrorist attempts made in the past ten years at various points in the country will not be seen separately from the terrorist activities taking place in the Horn Region.
It is known that Ethiopia has been working industriously to sustain its stability in collaboration with other peace loving countries and the people.
How all these four different interests could reconcile and integrate? If they get at least one common agenda why they united for such activities? In fact they have two common agendas. The first one is destabilizing the country’s peace and the second one is jeopardizing its development efforts.
These groups have been exerting unreserved efforts to jeopardize the development of the country. They all want the country to disintegrate and its people to engage in a bloodshed; thereby, to get advantage from that bloodshed and conflict.
The people of Oromiya in particular and that of Ethiopia in general have now realized their being beneficiary that they only need to maintain their peace and collaborate with the government in rooting out rent-collectors and corrupt persons from all walks of life.
The Ethiopian people and government believe that if Ethiopia is to maintain its stability there should be stable regions. The problem in the Ormiya Region needs the participation of Ethiopians and the Federal Government.
Therefore, It is necessary and as the same time mandatory for all Ethiopians to maintain and strengthened prevailing peace, democracy and development in the country so as to further reinforce the ongoing anti-poverty struggle and to build a country convenient to all its nations, nationalities and peoples.
