Addis Ababa, February 15, 2023 (Walta) – An agreement to alleviate Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit (AALRT) spare parts issue signed between Ethiopia and China yesterday.
The financial assistance by the Chinese government will be used to purchase 573 types of spare parts to be used in five of the AALRT systems.
Representing Ethiopia, Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide and China’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan signed the financial agreement.
Ambassador Zhiyuan on his Twitter account says “I am confident that these spare parts will contribute to its sustainable operation and development”.
The agreement is part of the economic and technical cooperation the two countries penned two years ago.
