Addis Ababa, August 3, 2023 (Walta) Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, held a discussion on various issues with Japanese Foreign Minister, Yoshimasa Hayashi.
The Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister and his Japanese counterpart discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues.
Demeke indicated the long history of Ethio-Japan relations and vowed to scale up the level the era demands.
On his part, the Japanese Foreign Minister, Yoshimasa Hayashi underscored that Japan acknowledges the peace agreement the Ethiopian government reached in Pretoria and confirmed that Japan will render its support in the implementation of the agreement.
He also pointed out that Japan has an interest to cooperate with Ethiopia in the economic sector.
